A large polished howlite sphere, 15.5cm across — roughly the size of the rim of a medium cereal bowl. The stone is a soft chalky white heavily veined with grey to near-black marbling, with occasional light brown and beige tints in the veining, so the whole surface carries a natural spider-web pattern. The piece is cut and polished to a smooth glassy finish that shows its own reflections and brings out every vein.
